Class Description
This class will be a great opportunity for kids of any age to get outside and stretch their legs. We will do activities outside every single week whether it is snowing, raining, sleeting or zero degrees. This is not a class for those who don’t handle winter. We will do a variety of activities including science related events, walking around in random circles, building snowmen, and tossing snow. We will be getting to know each other and will have plenty of practice getting along with people of different ages. This will be a very active class.
Class Requirements: Warm clothes and a good attitude. I will accept one whine from each child about the cold weather. It is winter. It will be a combination of cold, wet, muddy and slushy. Each student needs to be able to deal with the weather and be willing to be in a class with a huge range of kids of different ages and abilities. Each student must be able to follow the rules and be willing to wear a coat, gloves or mittens, boots and possibly a hat. I am a mom; I care about kids being warm and will insist on proper clothing or no visible shivering. Be prepared to be asked to act silly, strong or creative depending on the day and weather. Moms need to be okay with the students getting damp from snow or rain and encountering mud. I could keep writing because I feel somewhat obligated to fill this whole, box, but by now you likely get the picture.
Materials Needed: Warm coat, mittens or gloves, hat or thick hair, boots and maybe even snow pants. A good attitude. I really don’t like whining, particularly when it is me whining.
