Class Description
We will be learning about companion planting, cut flowers, crop rotation, soil health, beneficial bugs, soil blocking and how to design a garden.
Class Requirements: Preferably, you should have access to garden space at your home. Parents, you could choose to allow your child to have a portion of your garden that will be theirs for the year. Or if you have an older teenager that is very interested in this subject, you could let them design and maintain your whole garden. Raised beds are fine!
If you do not have access to garden space, but still wish to participate, Heidi has graciously said we can use her garden space. You will need to be able to get to her house throughout the summer to maintain your garden.
We are opening this up to 8-10 year olds, however, they will need to have the maturity to maintain it through the year.
Materials Needed: We will be providing the soil and all the normal veggies and flowers.
If you want different seeds than we provide, you will need to buy those yourself.
You will also need a bright space (or grow lights/greenhouse) for your seedlings once the Agape semester is done. Janna and I can keep them during the semester if needed.
Teacher: Jonkman
Cost: $20.00
