Using the book Paddle to the Sea by Holling C. Holling, we’ll be taking a journey with a little wooden canoe from Lake Superior all the way to the Atlantic Ocean! Our focus will be our beautiful mitten home, Michigan, and some of the things that make it special. We’ll be taking a look at . . .
– Our state animals, plants, and flag
– Natural and historical landmarks
– Natural resources
– Foods grown and made in Michigan
Crafts, worksheets, videos, story, and sampling some tasty Michigan treats!
Our biggest project will be something pretty for the Christmas tree.
Class Requirements: NA
Materials Needed: Please remember each week to bring scissors, glue stick, and colored pencils or crayons (6-9,) or colored pencils (9-12). You might also want to send along a paint shirt when we do our crafts (I will let you know which week).
