Class Description
In this class students will learn some basic cooking skills in a variety of different meal types. The goal is for them to have ideas of simple meals they can feel confident in preparing. Your student will come home each week with the start of a meal they can finish preparing at home for their family along with the recipe to do so. (We will communicate on Band what’s needed to complete the meal at the start of the week) The meals are planned to serve 8.
The meal plan is as follows (subject to change):
Marinades:
-Chicken Schwarma marinade (You provide the chicken)
-Best Chicken Marinade (you provide the chicken)
Salad
-Caesar Dressing (you provide the salad)
-garlic bread
Indian Butter Chicken (You provide the rice and chicken)
Breakfast Casserole (fully prepared)
Soup (you provide the protein and broth)
Chicken Divan (fully prepared)
Spaghetti (you provide the gd beef and noodles)
Dips
-Hummus (you provide items to dip)
-Vegetable dip (you provide items to dip)
Macaroni & Cheese (fully prepped)
Class Requirements: Students should be able to handle a knife in the kitchen with confidence and minimal assistance and follow directions well.
The menu for this class is set. Due to the constraints of this class we are unable to make accommodations for those with food sensitivities, allergies, etc.
Materials Needed: Each student needs to bring their own apron (which can be left at campus), a knife for cutting, and a quart mason jar or two for sauces and marinades.
