Class Description
Are you ready to RUN?! … as in run a sewing machine! This class will create a throw quilt (50″ x 60″) start to finish. We will go over basic machine and quilting tool and terminology, create a pattern & plan, stitch & Press MANY seams, layer together a finished top, batting & the back, tie it all together and finally, bind the edges of the quilt together to finish it up! We do have a couple (2-3) extra sewing machines available for use, if you do not own one. Please plan to purchase your Jelly Roll of fabric strips. (see Materials Needed for more info.)
Class Requirements: Prior experience with using a sewing machine is preferred, but as long as there is a ready to learn attitude, we’re willing to teach machine basics. Quilting is a great way to learn how to use a sewing machine, but we don’t want any accidents and we have A LOT of very sharp objects we will be working with! (Needles, Pins, Scissors, Rotary blades, Irons, etc.). So, please, be very mindful of your child’s capabilities before signing up for this class. If you have any questions, or are unsure of anything, please reach out prior to signing up.
Materials Needed: Sewing Machine and 1 Jelly Roll of Fabric – Here is the Amazon Link to choose to your own color – https://a.co/d/0dJPtjXN – you can also search “Tinyspool & Co. Jelly Roll fabric strips for quilting”. (this is a 40 strip assorted bundle)
