Class Description
During the 15th and 16th centuries just about every explorer who sailed beyond the horizon to find new lands thought he knew where he was going. But if fact, most got terribly lost and stumbled on places no one had ever heard of.
We will study the history, sociology, and even superstitions of the most influential explorers of the 15th century through drawings, maps, routes, diagrams of ships and navigational equipment. We will follow their routes and experience their hardships to better learn about these explorers whose discoveries altered the face of the globe and changed the course of human history.
