Class Description
In this class, we’ll explore various aspects of creative writing, including sensory details, showing vs. telling, and creating characters & conflict. One week will be a sensory experience. Students will be blindfolded while things to hear, feel, smell, and taste pop up all around them! They’ll then have a chance to write descriptively about their experience. Our final class will be a coffee house where students will be encouraged to share their writings aloud with the class.
Homework assignments will be offered, but not mandatory. I’ll leave it up to the parents/student on whether to incorporate the assignments into your other schoolwork at home.
Class Requirements: Able to write/spell independently (at least mostly).
Class geared toward ages 13+. Ages 11-12 more than welcome if parent believes they’re ready.
Materials Needed: None. Notebook and special writing pen will be provided! As will the treats for the final class!
